What is CBD?
CBD is an acronym for cannabidiol, a compound that occurs naturally in both marijuana and hemp. It’s found in very high concentrations in certain strains of hemp and is widely regarded to possess great medicinal value.
Is it legal?
Hemp, from which our CBD is derived, is recognized as a legal agricultural product following the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill (The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018). The changes in the bill included removing hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, which means that it’s no longer an illegal substance under federal law.
Why are our prices the lowest in the US?
By removing the middleman, or in this case a brick-and mortar-retail store, you pay the same wholesale prices retailers pay other CBD manufacturers. Many online sellers as well as retailers buy at those wholesale prices, add markups, and charge you more. Sunrise CBD is the only place to get high-quality CBD products direct at wholesale prices. Our prices are the lowest you’ll find anywhere. We guarantee it.
Seeing is believing. Compare our prices to some of the major CBD distributors in the US:
Your prices are low, but what about quality?
Our products are made from 100% hemp-based CBD grown legally in Colorado and compounded in California. All our products are sent to an independent third-party lab for verification and are certified for purity and consistency. Every bottle of Sunrise CBD oil is also guaranteed to be free from impurities and contaminants, such as pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and bacteria. We promise you’ll get consistent quality, 100% pure CBD — and nothing else.
What is CBD made from?
Our CBD is extracted from non-GMO, pesticide-free, organic hemp and has no intoxicating effect.
What is the difference between hemp and marijuana?
While both hemp and marijuana are members of the cannabis plant family, they are distinctly different strains of the plant, and each has its own unique chemical properties.
The short version is that marijuana has an abundance of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), while hemp contains very little. However, our method of extracting CBD from hemp yields no THC in our products.
Historically, marijuana has been mostly grown for recreational use, while hemp has mostly been grown for industrial purposes. Uses of hemp include food products, paper, clothing, building materials, oils, and most recently, CBD.
Will I get high?
No. CBD is non-intoxicating and won’t produce the effects of marijuana. Many users do, however, report feelings of calm and relaxation. Our products contain no THC.
Why should I take it?
While we have to be careful to not make specific claims for curing medical conditions, there is scientific research and a great amount of feedback from our clients who have successfully used CBD to help with stress, pain, inflammation, anxiety, and sleep. For more information, see our CBD studies page and client testimonials.
How much should I take?
Some of our clients report positive results with as little at 20 mg of CBD per day, but most find 50 mg to 100 mg per day to be most effective. While 100 mg per day is significantly more than most suggest, the response and feedback from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive at these levels. We realize using these higher quantities on a regular basis is costly — and that’s one of the main drivers of Sunrise CBD and our pricing model. We want everyone to be able to afford what we consider effective doses of pure CBD.
What will I feel?
CBD affects everyone differently, and the effects depend on the amount taken and the length of time you’ve been taking it. While some users report an increased sense of well-being, they also report fewer headaches, less pain and better sleep — without any intoxicating effects.
How do I know it’s safe?
A preliminary report published in November 2017 by the World Health Organization concluded that naturally occurring CBD is safe and well-tolerated in humans (and animals), and isn’t associated with abuse potential. However, the WHO said adverse effects from interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications may exist. If you are currently on other medications, check with your doctor before starting a CBD regimen.
Is it pure?
Sunrise’s hemp-based CBD is 100% pure, all-natural, organic, and grown in the USA. It’s compounded in our labs in California and then tested by an outside third party lab.
Will I fail a drug test?
The practical answer here is “no” as our CBD contains mostly undetectable traces of THC. However, it’s possible if you consumed extremely high doses (2,000 mg per day) many days in a row, these trace amounts of THC could theoretically build up to be detectable. CBD can stay in your system for 5-10 days.
How do I store my CBD?
While not necessary, it’s best to store our products in a cool, dry and dark place. A kitchen cabinet or refrigerator are great. Shelf life is up to 2 years.
What’s the difference between CBD oil and hemp oil?
Hemp oil is usually pressed from hemp seeds and contains no CBD. Our CBD is extracted from the entire hemp plant. We eventually end up with a compound that is 99+% pure CBD.
What is third-party testing and verification?
Our CBD is lab-tested by an outside third-party that verifies the content of each batch, so we can guarantee the products you receive are free of contaminants, such as pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and bacteria, and contain no THC. Test results are under our main menu, as well as on every product page.
What is this about prescription drugs, grapefruit and CBD?
With some prescription drugs, you may be warned not to take them with grapefruit or grapefruit juice because grapefruit may keep the medication in your system longer than — or not as long as — it’s supposed to.
The result is you’ll have too much of the drug or too little of the drug in your body, so the drug isn’t working for you to its fullest. CBD can have the same effect with certain drugs — but the effect can be even stronger than with grapefruit.
So, if your doctor has told you not to eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice with your medication, don’t take CBD either. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor before taking CBD to avoid unwanted drug-CBD interactions.
Are your products vegan?
Only our pain cream, which contains beeswax, isn’t vegan. All our other products are vegan, organic, and contain nothing artificial.
Can I buy Sunrise CBD products in stores?

We use USPS Priority Mail, which is delivered in 1-3 business days.

Can I use CBD while pregnant or if I want to get pregnant?
There are very few reliable clinical studies on the effects of CBD on the developing fetus, but the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) recommends not using cannabinoids during pregnancy and existing studies have indicated cannabinoids can affect neurodevelopmental processes in the fetus. Until more testing is done, talk to your doctor before using any CBD products.
Can I use CBD while nursing?
Cannabinoids can pass to babies through breast milk and there is very little research available on the effects of CBD on nursing babies. So, until there’s a more definitive answer, most doctors caution against using CBD while breastfeeding.
Can people with tree nut allergies use your products that contain coconut oil?
Coconut allergy is very rare. The coconut is a fruit, not a nut, so coconut oil (which is used in our drops) is not directly associated with a nut allergy. However, there is at least one documented case of a coconut oil allergy, so the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) says such a reaction can’t be ruled out. If you are concerned, talk to your physician.
