Got Pain? Try CBD Pain Cream

Woman with back pain. CBD pain cream.

Of all its many health benefits, did you know people turn most often to CBD to treat pain? According to the National Center for Biotechnology Information, research shows that more than 60% of people who take CBD, take it for a medical condition. The top two reasons for use? Chronic pain and arthritis or joint pain.

In fact, the Arthritis Foundation surveyed 2,600 arthritis patients in 2019 and found 79% currently use CBD, used it in the past, or are considering future use.

The survey also found:

  • Twenty-nine percent of respondents said they currently use CBD to manage their arthritis symptoms.
  • Sixty-three percent of those currently using CBD report using it daily, and 26 percent use it several times per week.
  • Of those surveyed, 62 percent use a liquid form of CBD, and 55 percent use a topical product, such as CBD cream, for pain relief.

How You Take CBD Makes a Difference

Different ways to take CBDDifferent methods of delivery give users a choice of how to take their CBD and the speed of effectiveness. When it comes to pain, first consider what kind of pain you want to target. If it’s chronic, you might want to use CBD oil, capsules, or isolate. You can take all three orally to reach your bloodstream for faster and more general relief. If the pain is localized, try a CBD pain cream or CBD lotion for pain. Our customers have reported relief from back and muscle pain using our 1,500 mg CBD pain cream. Our CBD cream for pain relief combines cooling menthol with the inflammation fighter in CBD that provides deep, penetrating pain relief for sore muscles, sore joints, backaches, and arthritis, or pain and inflammation from exercise or sports.

Does CBD Cream Work for Pain?

Anecdotally, there’s a lot of evidence that CBD cream can lessen pain and inflammation. Writes one of our customers:

The CBD Pain Cream that Sunrise CBD offers is exceptional. I have some pretty serious joint issues and I use the Pain Cream morning and night. Within a very short period of time, I feel relief and am able to go about my day or sleep with minimal pain. I highly recommend Sunrise CBD’s Pain Cream to lots of friends dealing with chronic pain.

There are, and more are underway. Hemp, which is used to make CBD, was classified as a Schedule I controlled substance by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration before the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill (The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018). Because of that, human studies were few and far between. Now that the legal status of hemp is clear, we can expect to see more research, especially that dealing with the benefits of CBD for pain.

One thing many researchers already agree on is that data so far provides a case for further research to learn more about the therapeutic potential of CBD.

According to Matthew Halpert, an instructor of immunology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, “preliminary studies are now showing a very effective anti-inflammatory response, and it is possible that CBD will prove to exert an overall positive effect on health and well-being.”

CBD and Pain Studies

It’s believed that CBD applied topically actually stops the pain for a time rather than masking it. That may be because of a high concentration of cannabinoid receptors on the skin. Cannabinoid receptors work with the endocannabinoid system that affects many body processes,  including inflammation and other immune system responses.

Here are some of the studies that indicate that CBD is effective for relief of pain and inflammation:

  • A 2012 study suggested that cannabinoids suppress inflammatory and neuropathic pain.
  • A 2015 study that found CBD reduced inflammation caused by a range of conditions.
  • A 2016 study indicated that transdermal cannabidiol reduces inflammation and pain.
  • A 2017 study that concluded CBD is useful for reducing inflammation and pain without side effects.
  • A 2017 study that found CBD may be a safe, useful therapeutic for treating joint pain from osteoarthritis.

What Affects the Level of Relief?

Everyone’s body handles cannabidiol differently, and several factors affect efficacy.

Container of Sunrise CBD pain creamOne factor is the CBD quality. One study found that only about 1/3 of tested products contained the amount of CBD shown on the label. Almost 43 percent had more CBD than promised, and 26 percent had less. That means there’s a one in four chance you’re not getting the strength of CBD that you think you are.

Purity and concentration are also factors. The product should be made from 100% pure CBD, and the label should also show how much CBD there is per mg. Reputable brands, such as Sunrise CBD, have their CBD tested by a third-party independent lab, and we post those results on our website. That way, we ensure you get the amount of CBD on the label and that the product is free from THC, contaminants, and other harmful substances.

The higher the quality and amount of CBD, the better the level of relief.

How Much CBD Cream is Safe?

CBD cream has little chance of side-effects. There is no THC, so you won’t get “high.” An allergic reaction is always a possibility, whether from the cannabinoids or the other ingredients in the product. Test a small amount on your skin first to determine if you have an allergy to the cream. If in doubt, check with your doctor.

If you have no allergies or side effects, you can be liberal in your use of CBD cream. Even when taken orally, CBD in high doses is considered safe. Clinical trials have prescribed CBD doses up to 1,200 mg daily for months without observing any serious side effects. And a U.S. Government patent concludes that “No signs of toxicity or serious side effects have been observed following chronic administration of cannabidiol to healthy volunteers … even in large acute doses of 700 mg/day.”

Our pain cream is safe, 100% natural, and made from hemp grown in the US. An independent third-party lab tests all our products for purity. We’ve created a cream that is absorbed quickly; just rub it on the affected area as needed. Apply it to affected areas morning and night for all-day relief, or topically as needed. Keep a container in your gym bag for after workout for after-workout pain and recovery.
