FAQ

Our CBD is extracted from non-GMO, pesticide-free, organic hemp and has no intoxicating effect.

Hemp, from which our CBD is derived, is recognized as a legal agricultural product following the passage of the 2018 Farm Bill (The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018). The changes in the bill included removing hemp from the Controlled Substances Act, which means that it’s no longer an illegal substance under federal law.

By removing the middleman, or in this case a brick-and mortar-retail store, you pay the same wholesale prices retailers pay other CBD manufacturers. Many online sellers as well as retailers buy at those wholesale prices, add markups, and charge you more. Sunrise CBD is the only place to get high-quality CBD products direct at wholesale prices. Our prices are the lowest you’ll find anywhere. We guarantee it. Seeing is believing. Compare our prices to some of the major CBD distributors in the US:

Our products are made from 100% hemp-based CBD grown legally in Colorado and compounded in California. All our products are sent to an independent third-party lab for verification and are certified for purity and consistency. Every bottle of Sunrise CBD oil is also guaranteed to be free from impurities and contaminants, such as pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and bacteria. We promise you’ll get consistent quality, 100% pure CBD — and nothing else.

Our CBD is extracted from non-GMO, pesticide-free, organic hemp and has no intoxicating effect.

While both hemp and marijuana are members of the cannabis plant family, they are distinctly different strains of the plant, and each has its own unique chemical properties.

The short version is that marijuana has an abundance of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), while hemp contains very little.  However, our method of extracting CBD from hemp yields no THC in our products.

Historically, marijuana has been mostly grown for recreational use,  while hemp has mostly been grown for industrial purposes. Uses of hemp include food products, paper, clothing, building materials, oils, and most recently, CBD.

No. CBD is non-intoxicating and won’t produce the effects of marijuana. Many users do, however, report feelings of calm and relaxation. Our products contain no THC.

While we have to be careful to not make specific claims for curing medical conditions, there is scientific research and a great amount of feedback from our clients who have successfully used CBD to help with stress, pain, inflammation, anxiety, and sleep. For more information, see our CBD studies page and client testimonials.

Some of our clients report positive results with as little at 20 mg of CBD per day, but most find 50 mg to 100 mg per day to be most effective. While 100 mg per day is significantly more than most suggest, the response and feedback from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive at these levels. We realize using these higher quantities on a regular basis is costly — and that’s one of the main drivers of Sunrise CBD and our pricing model. We want everyone to be able to afford what we consider effective doses of pure CBD.

CBD affects everyone differently, and the effects depend on the amount taken and the length of time you’ve been taking it. While some users report an increased sense of well-being, they also report fewer headaches, less pain and better sleep — without any intoxicating effects.

A preliminary report published in November 2017 by the World Health Organization concluded that naturally occurring CBD is safe and well-tolerated in humans (and animals), and isn’t associated with abuse potential. However, the WHO said adverse effects from interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications may exist. If you are currently on other medications, check with your doctor before starting a CBD regimen.

Sunrise’s hemp-based CBD is 100% pure, all-natural, organic, and grown in the USA. It’s compounded in our labs in California and then tested by an outside third party lab.

Our CBD products are made from isolate and have zero tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the component of cannabis that gets you high. So, it’s highly unlikely you will fail a drug test, since most drug tests specifically look for the presence of THC, and not for CBD. CBD products can legally have .3% THC or less; ours have none. Some manufacturers will say their products have no THC, but that might not be true. One study found that almost 21 percent of tested had up more than .3% THC. So, it’s crucial to buy from a reputable manufacturer who has products tested by a third-party independent lab. Sunrise CBD does that, and we post the results on our website.

While not necessary, it’s best to store our products in a cool, dry and dark place. A kitchen cabinet or refrigerator are great. Shelf life is up to 2 years.

Our CBD is lab-tested by an outside third-party that verifies the content of each batch, so we can guarantee the products you receive are free of contaminants, such as pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents, and bacteria, and contain no THC. Test results are under our main menu, as well as on every product page.

With some prescription drugs, you may be warned not to take them with grapefruit or grapefruit juice because grapefruit may keep the medication in your system longer than — or not as long as — it’s supposed to.

The result is you’ll have too much of the drug or too little of the drug in your body, so the drug isn’t working for you to its fullest. CBD can have the same effect with certain drugs — but the effect can be even stronger than with grapefruit.

So, if your doctor has told you not to eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice with your medication, don’t take CBD either. The best thing to do is to talk to your doctor before taking CBD to avoid unwanted drug-CBD interactions.

There are very few reliable clinical studies on the effects of CBD on the developing fetus, but the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) recommends not using cannabinoids during pregnancy and existing studies have indicated cannabinoids can affect neurodevelopmental processes in the fetus. Until more testing is done, talk to your doctor before using any CBD products.

Cannabinoids can pass to babies through breast milk and there is very little research available on the effects of CBD on nursing babies. So, until there’s a more definitive answer, most doctors caution against using CBD while breastfeeding.

Coconut allergy is very rare. The coconut is a fruit, not a nut, so coconut oil (which is used in our drops) is not directly associated with a nut allergy. However, there is at least one documented case of a coconut oil allergy, so the American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) says such a reaction can’t be ruled out. If you are concerned, talk to your physician.
